The perfect addition to any meal with a Mexican twist, this avocado cilantro lime dressing is a sure-fire winner. Ready in under 5 minutes, it contains just a few simple ingredients. Paleo, Whole30, low-carb, ketogenic, sugar-free, vegan.
One of my favorite ways to spice up bland or boring meals is by adding a sauce or dressing of some kind. There are SO many ways to make a salad or some ground turkey into something really unique and flavorful, simply by adding some sauce.
Isn’t that so awesome? I could eat pretty much the same meal every night, so long as the sauce was rotated every night. I tend to get bored of eating the same thing over and over, but change up the flavors and I would be a happy camper.
I think I’m going to start a summer series where I focus more on the sauces I’m currently loving. They’re such a quick and easy addition to any recipe, they take just a few minutes to whip up and there is no cooking required! Plus, I have TONS of ideas for new recipes I want to try, especially some homemade mayo-based dips…can you say YUM?!
So I guess this is officially the first recipe in my summer sauce series, so let’s dig in, shall we?
This avocado cilantro lime dressing could not be easier to make. Simply toss some cilantro, lime and half an avocado into a blender. Add in a bit of olive oil and some salt and pepper, and you’re well on your way.
Blend it all up, and you’re good to go! If the dressing is too thick for your liking, simply add in a bit more olive oil and blend again.
There are so many ways to use this dressing. Of course you can add it to your favorite Mexican-inspired salad, but it also works incredibly well as a vegetable dip, or as an add-in for your favorite meat.
I added some in with some ground turkey and it was excellent! I also used some of the dressing as a dip for cucumbers as part of my lunch. Highly recommended! You really can’t go wrong any way you want to use it. Although I imagine adding it to ice cream might be questionable…

Avocado Cilantro Lime Dressing
- 1/2 avocado
- Juice of one lime
- 1/2 bunch cilantro including stems
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Add all ingredients to a blender and pulse until well-blended. If the sauce is too thick, add in more olive oil until the desired consistency is achieved.
