These gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuits are salty, crispy and soft and warm on the inside! Keto, low-carb, gluten-free, grain-free.
Mmmmm freshly baked biscuits. Let’s be real – who out there is gluten-free and never has an urge to consume fresh bread? Even when it is placed right in front of you at a nice restaurant?
Well, hopefully if you are gluten intolerant, you have the self control to stop before you do something you’ll regret. Sometimes it can be really hard not to reach for it, though.
While I can’t offer you a fresh piece of tasty gluten-free bread at a restaurant, I can provide these amazing gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuit recipe for you to make at home! You could even sneak it into the restaurant to enjoy secretly, if you are feeling adventurous.
They are cheesy, buttery, salty and garlicky. You might even consider them a copycat recipe for those tasty Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. After adding the delicious garlic butter sauce on top, you’ll understand why I’m so excited about them, they are to die for!
These gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuits are especially delicious when you haven’t had any bread in months, which tends to happen a lot in my world, since gluten-free bread is EXPENSIVE! Bread has become somewhat of a special treat these days for me, since it’s not very economical to buy all of the time.
Plus, I just haven’t found any that I really enjoy. Most of the store-bought brands are really dry, contains corn or other grains that don’t agree with me, or have a strange texture or taste.
These gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuits are far from dry and tasteless or full of grains. They’re moist inside, have a nice crispy outside, and are bursting with delicious sharp cheddar flavor. Mmmmm.
Did I mention that you can top these with a super delicious garlic butter sauce? It is a killer combination! These can of course be eaten without the sauce, but really, why would you want to?
If you’re a fan of garlic knots, the sauce tastes pretty much like what you would top them with, minus the parmesan. Don’t these gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuits just look simply scrumptious??
You really can’t go wrong with cheddar cheese and garlic. Mmhmm! You can serve them with almost any dish. They would go incredibly well with some Broccoli Cheddar Soup (you can never have enough cheese), Balsamic Chicken and Asparagus, or Italian Zucchini Noodles.

Great recipe! I made them smaller, got 15 bite size pcs from the recipe for 6. They were a hit at a potluck buffet. Will make them again. Wonderful recipe for variations, like omit onion/garlic and add blueberries for a breakfast scone, or bake in a muffin form and use as a pie crust for individual savory or sweet pies. A mild cheddar or havarti can be used for sweeter pastries. Thanks for this recipe!
So glad they were a hit at your potluck! Also, SO many good ideas! I will definitely be experimenting with making pastries from it, love this idea 🙂
I couldn’t wait to try huckleberry scones, delish! Omit the onion and garlic powder, use unsalted butter, and mild cheddar or havarti, add 1/3 c fresh or frozen blueberries or huckleberries, 1 tbsp sweetener if desired. If using frozen berries, mix in frozen and work dough quickly, shape into scones before the berries thaw and dyes the dough blue. Just looks nicer. Enjoy as is or with cream cheese. Perfect for breakfast or “high tea”.
YUM! That sounds heavenly! I will definitely give it a shot!
