These four-ingredient rosemary and apple pork chops are a sure-fire winning recipe for your family. They’re so gourmet that your family may have trouble believing you made them yourself! Whole30 compliant, Paleo, gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free.
These rosemary and apple pork chops may just be one of the most gourmet meals I’ve ever cooked. And really, it could not be an easier recipe to follow and make. All it requires is some really fresh, healthy ingredients, and you are well on your way to an incredibly tasty and nourishing meal!
You really only need four ingredients to make these rosemary and apple pork chops, and three of them should already be really obvious! The fourth is onions, which I feel add a really nice tangy flavor that offsets the sweetness of the apples and the saltiness of the pork.
Speaking of saltiness, I did add a bit of I love this Himalayan pink salt to the pork, which I think helps to bring out the flavor even more.
I started off by sprinkling salt on the raw pork, as I previously mentioned. Add some oil (I recommend using an oil that can stand high heat such as refined coconut or ghee) to a cast iron skillet, and crank that heat up to medium high.
You want the pan nice and hot before you add in the pork. Once it’s gotten really hot, add in your pork chops and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side. I used these incredibly thick grass-fed, grass-finished pork chops from Butcher Box, and ended up searing them on their ends as well.
They don’t need to be cooked in the middle during this step, as they will be baked in the oven for awhile. We just want that delicious golden brown sear that will lock in all of the juices.
Next, assemble your sliced apples and diced onions into a large baking dish. Top with the seared pork chops, sprigs of rosemary, and another sprinkle of salt. Pop it in a preheated oven and let it work it’s magic for 20-25 minutes.
The rosemary flavor should be nicely infused into the apples and onions, which may have been my favorite part of the dish. Such a delicious flavor combination!
