These air-fried chicken strips are a healthier alternative to deep-fried chicken, but just as juicy and crispy! They are also low-carb, paleo and Whole30.
1lbchicken strips(16 oz)
1/2cupblanched almond flour(60 g)
olive oil spray
Preheat air fryer to 400F.
Add egg to a bowl and whisk.
Add almond flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika to a second bowl and stir to combine.
Dip the chicken into the dry mixture and tap off the excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then back into the dry mixture, making sure to get the dry mixture into all the crevices of the chicken. Repeat until all chicken is coated.
Spread chicken out into the basket of the air fryer in a single layer with room between each piece of chicken. Two or more batches may be needed with a small air fryer.
Cook for 5-6 minutes at 400F, then flip over and cook for another 5-6 minutes. Check that the temperature is at least 165F before consuming. For thighs, wings and legs, see modified cook times below.
