If you are a fan of Japanese Hibachi, then you are probably familiar with yum yum sauce. It is a thick, creamy and flavorful sauce that goes well with everything! This is a keto version that is also Whole30 friendly, Paleo and sugar-free.

You Mean I Can Make It Myself?
Yes, you heard me right. You can make this delicious, pink, creamy sauce yourself! And it’s SUPER easy to make!
Not only that, but if you choose the right mayo, you can avoid all of the bad fats in soybean and canola oil-based mayonnaise, by using an olive or avocado oil-based mayo!
Be sure to check the ingredients on the mayo before you buy it, because aside from bad oils, there are also common ingredients like corn starch, modified food starch and tons of preservatives added to conventional mayo!
If you don’t have an extra 5 minutes to spare, you can use a mayo like this Primal Kitchen mayo. If you do have a few extra minutes, you can make your own mayo (also SUPER easy) to do.

So how easy is it, really?
So once you have your mayo good to go (you can make your own mayo, or I like avocado-based mayo like this Primal Kitchen mayo), all you have to do is add some more ingredients and place in the fridge. Really, that’s it.
The other ingredients you will need are tomato paste, butter or ghee, garlic salt, paprika and stevia (or another sweetener of your choice).

Great recipe! We have tried it twice now and it’s awesome. Thank you so much.
Thank you Heather, I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
Can you sub ketchup for the tomato paste!?
Hi Kali, the ketchup won’t have as strong of a flavor as the tomato paste, but you can substitute it, if that’s all you have available. You may have to add a bit more to get the taste right. Remember that there is usually sugar added to ketchup, so be aware of that, if your diet does not allow it.
It says 5 drops sweetener of choice, but what sweetness equivalent is that? (Like how many teaspoons of sugar is that replacing?) 5 drops is very different between types of sweeteners, or even the same kind but different brands. Thanks! 🙂
Hi Kate, 5 drops of stevia is about a teaspoon of granulated sugar/sweetener.
New to whole 30 but I was under the impression I couldn’t have artificial sweetners of any kind. Help
Hi Ashley, you will want to omit the sweetener for Whole30.
this is amazing! Add coconut aminos to it instead of the sugar substitute (whole30). It is sooo good!
Thanks for the great review, Ashley! The coconut aminos are a great idea, I will definitely be trying that!
Fantastic. I made this for my eight-year-old, who loves yummy sauce, since we’ve started an anti-inflammatory diet. I added about a Tbsp of honey, and she loves it! Thank you so much for this recipe!
Hi Jenny, I’m so happy your daughter loves it!
