Ingredients
For Filling:
1applechopped into chunks
1tablespoonbutter or ghee
1/4teaspooncinnamon
For Topping:
1tablespoonbutter or ghee
6almondschopped finely
1tablespoonhemp seeds
2teaspoonscoconut flouror enough to thicken the topping into a crumble
1teaspoonsweetener of choicehoney, maple syrup and erythritol all work well. Also, you could use several drops of stevia instead, if you prefer.
Instructions
Melt butter in a pan over medium-low heat. Once melted, toss in apple chunks and cook covered until soft. Add in cinnamon and stir to coat evenly.
Move cooked apples into a dish.
To make the topping, melt the remaining butter in the same pan over medium-low heat. Add in chopped almonds and cook until they begin to turn slightly brown. Add in hemp seeds and stir to combine.
Add in coconut flour 1/2 teaspoon at a time until the mixture thickens to a "crumble" consistency. You may need more or less coconut flour, depending on the absorbancy. Add in sweetener and stir until well-coated. Taste test and add more sweetener, if desired.
Top the cooked apples with the crumble. Enjoy!
