Looking for a deliciously creamy avocado spread? This one is great for sandwiches, and can also be made into a delicious salad dressing or sauce with a bit more liquid! Keto, Whole30, vegan.
Ready for some creamy avocado goodness?
If you guys have been around for awhile (or even a little while), then you know that I am possibly the world’s largest fan of avocado. I’ll eat it for pretty much any meal of the day, and for any occasion.
I just love the creaminess and versatility of avocado, and I know I’m not the only one. If you are here, I assume it’s because you would agree with me! So naturally, avocado-based spreads, sauces and dressings seemed like a no-brainer.
I made this recipe with versatility in mind, because when you can kill two birds, well, why not?
Mmmm creamy avocado, get in my belly!
The basic recipe is for a creamy avocado spread, perfect for sandwiches and wraps. It also doubles as a delicious veggie dip! The texture is similar to guacamole, but without the additional tomatoes, jalapenos, cilantro and lime.
To make the spread, simply add your ripe avocado, avocado oil, mayo, apple cider vinegar, salt and a bit of stevia (optional) to a blender, food processor or a jar that fits an immersion blender.
If you’re looking for a healthy mayo option, this homemade three-ingredient mayo works perfectly here, plus it only take a few minutes itself!
If you want to thin out the recipe a bit to use as a sauce or a salad dressing, as you are blending, simply add in enough additional avocado oil to achieve the desired consistency.
Delicious, but I want one with more flavor…any suggestions?
There are so many ways you could really doll this up. Lime juice would work great, without tasting too much like guacamole. You could also add in some crumbled up bacon, or add in chunks of hand-boiled egg.
You can also add in lots of fresh or dried herbs and spices. Any of the following go well with avocado: cayenne pepper, chili, cumin, cilantro, basil, pepper and everything but the bagel seasoning (my personal favorite!).
